PROJECT DETAILS
The Beaconsfield Child and Family Centre is located in Beaconsfield, Tasmania, and provides services to improve the health, education and wellbeing of small children in the community.
It has been designed with adaptable spaces to cater for a variance of age groups. Scale within the centre varies responding to this dynamic group, resulting in all user groups feeling equal within the space.
The building has been divided into separate uses for different age groups, allowing specific activities to occur within the building envelope. The building nestles into the surrounding residential area through its scale, building footprint and building envelope, ensuring low visual impact on the surrounding area.
The building’s appearance and material palette begin to reference the semi-rural aesthetic of Beaconsfield’s existing built fabric, giving context to the building within the greater landscape.
