Drivers Run is a 60 lot eco-residential development on the fringes of Launceston, Tasmania. CBM’s vision for this development was to preserve and enhance the natural heritage and biodiversity of the site, and create an exemplar of sustainable semi-rural land development.

 

Approximately half of the total site area will be protected under a conservation covenant, and each resident will be able to share in the recreational use of this native bushland and wetland.

 

The project required rezoning approval by Council before the development application could be prepared and submitted. This approval process was carefully managed, and was ultimately successful due to the sustainable outcomes proposed, and the opportunity to affect change in the way future semi-rural land is developed in Tasmania.
