HAMISH COURT RESIDENCE

RIVERSIDE, TAS

PROJECT DETAILS

The client’s brief was to push the boundaries of design, to create a bespoke home which reflected their desire to be different.

Specific design attributes include a 2 tonne concrete dining table integrated into the staircase, leading to the open loft-style master bedroom and ensuite, a high raking ceiling which enhances the sense of space in the main living areas, and double sliding doors connecting the main living area with the outside entertaining area.

Sustainable features of the house include double glazed windows, excellent natural ventilation, a 5kW solar power system and a solar hot water system, which offset all electricity usage.

The elongated structure maximises the natural attributes of the site, allowing for uninterrupted, north facing views of the Tamar Valley from each room in the house.
