This design for a property at Drivers Run embraces its rural setting both in material palette and its connection to the landscape. Laid out as two slipped pavilions, the building has been oriented to allow views over Launceston from the living spaces with adjoining northern decked space and a private north eastern outdoor garden.

 

The butterfly roof articulates the divide between living and sleeping quarters with circulation space running between. A compact plan also adds to the extremely high energy efficiency of the design.
